1. How do I schedule an appointment?

2. Do I need a referral?
No. Most patients do not need a referral to schedule an appointment. However, some insurance plans may require one. Please get in touch with your insurance provider if you are unsure.
3. Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. Waymaker Behavioral Health & Wellness provides secure telepsychiatry services to patients throughout Georgia. You can attend your appointment from the comfort and privacy of your home using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
4. What ages do you treat?
We provide psychiatric care for adolescents and adults. If you have questions about whether our services are appropriate for you or a family member, please contact our office.
5. What conditions do you treat?
We evaluate and treat a variety of mental health conditions, including:

6. What happens during my first appointment?
Your initial visit includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We will discuss your medical and mental health history, current concerns, symptoms, previous treatments, medications, and goals for treatment. Based on this evaluation, we will work together to develop an individualized treatment plan.
7. How long are appointments? Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: Approximately 60–90 minutes
- Follow-Up Medication Management Visits: Typically 20–30 minutes, depending on your clinical needs.
8. Do you prescribe medications?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, medication may be recommended as part of your treatment plan. Medication decisions are made collaboratively after a thorough evaluation, taking into account your symptoms, medical history, treatment goals, and the risks and benefits of each option.
9. Do you prescribe controlled medications?
Controlled medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate and in accordance with federal and state regulations. Treatment decisions are based on a comprehensive evaluation, clinical judgment, and applicable prescribing requirements.
10. Do you accept insurance?
We are currently in the process of credentialing with several insurance plans.
If your plan is not yet accepted, self-pay options are available. Please contact our office for the most current information regarding insurance participation and fees.
11. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept secure electronic payments, including:
- Major credit and debit cards
- Health Savings Account (HSA) cards
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards (when applicable)
Payment is due at the time services are provided unless other arrangements have been made.
12. What are your self-pay fees?
Self-pay rates vary depending on the type of appointment.

13. What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us at least 24 business hours in advance.
Appointments cancelled late or missed without notice may be subject to a cancellation or no-show fee.

Most appointments are conducted virtually using a secure HIPAA-compliant platform.
If an in-person visit becomes clinically appropriate and available, additional information will be provided at that time.

Waymaker Behavioral Health & Wellness does not provide emergency psychiatric services.
